I bought it last night, overnight shipment arrived this morning. Tests:

Android wired and 2.4GHz USB: show up as a keyboard, but button presses don't seem to do anything
Android Bluetooth: works as expected
Windows Wired and 2.4GHz: show up as "Controller (8BitDo Ultimate 2C Wireless)" and button layout matches Xbox layout (no L4/R4, etc).
Windows Bluetooth: identified as "8BitDo Ultimate 2C Wireless" in bluetooth devices. In "Game Controllers" settings it is called "6 axis 16 button gamepad with hat switch" and the buttons don't correspond to Xbox layout. L4 and R4 show up as buttons in between the normal sequence (L4 is 3, R4 is 6). So I imagine you could use it just fine in a game where you can map buttons, but not a game that expects Xbox layout.

Other weird behavior is that there's no analog shoulder buttons. LT/RT are shown as buttons, not axis.

I'm not sure how to know if it uses hall effect sensors. Anyone know a way to determine?
BTW, LB and RB are super clicky -- very noisy when pressed.

I see the Switch isn't listed as being compatible. What is special in the Switch that makes this incompatible? I bought a MAYFLASH USB adapter years ago that plugs into the Switch and allows Xbox One controllers to work. I assume this controller would also work with that?

Until someone confirms, some reviews on Amazon state
  • "It seems like Steam sees the controller as an Xbox controller "
  • "the 8Bitdo Ultimate 2C shows up in the Control Panel > Device Manager as an Xbox 360 controller."

All Amazon reviews say this does not work on Switch. Only "Windows 10 and above, Android 9.0 and above, Raspberry Pi, and Steam Deck"

Thanks. I haven't bought a 2.4G controller in the past 5-10 years that doesn't show up as an Xbox controller, but it'd be just my luck.

It only works with bluetooth on android. You have to use the adapter on windows. It doesn't work with usbc cable either, that's only for charging.

This is the cheap model. So removing some features helps meet the price point, wired does add complexity to the pcb.

Amazon >> Mode switch button. 2.4G and wired for Windows, Bluetooth for Android.

So, my guess it supports all, 2.4GHz Adapter / Bluetooth / USB Wired.
Then, maybe all 3 modes supported both in Windows and Android?
if Windows PC has the BT.
if you have an adapter of USB Type A to Type C.

Hope some owners confirm.

Quit your bullshit. This controller does pass data in wired mode on windows. The list wired mode explicitly on their product page.
