I don't get the filter requirements of these things, I get it that it's cat saliva etc but why can't they make ones that you can just take apart and wash instead of using filters. Do people just fill this and just go without adding fresh water for a week? I just use a bowl and change the water every day, no matter cat drinks it or not.

I had a cat that refused to drink water in a bowl. ONLY if it was running water. 😩 😑 so this would have been a nice thing to have back then

Oh, i never thought of that, mine just drinks from bowl, so that's a good point
