Keep in mind, that belief is for people that go mainly by measurements. If you go by audibly, their centers are very well liked. Here is just one example, that matches well with this model in my experience.
Na, I had to return my 500c ii because of this and measured it as -10 db sitting slightly off from center compared to db at center</div>
So you heard nothing and you believe it's because of 10dbs!
Yes, you can choose to believe that also.

Yeah usually volume contributes to the level of perceived hearing. I could hear it fine straight on. I changed seats. My ears didn't change. But I could no longer hear it. I measured the volume, it was 10db lower. Every 10db is a doubling of volume. Therefore, it was because of the 10db. I got a different center which didn't have poor off axis dispersion. That did not have a 10db drop off. I could hear it fine. Therefore, it was the 10db. Good lord I swear you have to spell it out for some people/bots

I understand the bewilderment!
Again you listened to the 500ii & from an unknown off axis position, you literally couldn't hear it( that in itself)! π€
You measured and determined it was because of a 10db difference.
Apparently this measurement tells you the 504 would sound the same way,(or all Klipsch centers?), no need to listen! π€
You disagreed with my comment why again? π€
Seems you confirmed it more than disagreeing!
BTW you didn't mention which AVR you have/use but most would let you adjust the centers db levels by 10db!

Agree, plus Also big differance between a 500 & the 504/450 series!! not fair to put one product with the other which is the 504 on this thread.. in addition the way the 504 uses it;s 4 drivers and cross over are completely different then how the 500 2 way design works... I find it impossible to beleive that a 504 can have this kind of drop off, db, etc as I run two of them in 2 systems and hear ZERO issues sitting anywhere on a huge sectional... Like Rob stated wish people just listened to these units and make a real world judgement if it sounds good to you or not....
