Just buy it, it's awesome. Bluetooth sync is fast and seamless on my iPhone - just expand the dock and slide in the phone - it automatically turns on and pairs by the time my phone is set in the dock. Controls feel really nice. Great battery life. I hear its amazing with a Switch, if you got lucky enough to score one from Costco. I don't know how/why people pay $150 for these things from other companies. Gamesir killed it.
I use mine for Steam Link when I want to game on the couch. I have a pretty robust home network, so even platforming games don't suffer from latency.

I loved my original G8 so much, I bought a second one, just in case.
Insane price, I've tried basically all the controllers for my spare phone and the G8 is by far the best and does not feel like a toy. Great grips, great d-pad, great buttons. Highly recommend! Bought a second one as well. I also have a g cloud for steam link but I am reluctant to use it since the G8 feels so much better.

I got one from a last sale. How do you do this? Do you just pull them apart really hard?
YouTube "gamesir g8 mod", and you'll have plenty of videos showing how to do it.

Netflix Games and Delta Emulator has turned my iPhone into a gaming machine this past year. Functional with the Nintendo Switch is the icing on the cake.

Have been eyeing this. Pulled the trigger at this price.

+1 to all the positive comments, I've tried quite a few mobile controllers and this one is definitely my favorite. Not as portable as something like the backbone but for the slightly larger size you're getting MUCH more comfortable ergonomics, way higher quality sticks and buttons, and more device versatility (even supports wired USB-C connection to PC). If you're looking for a single controller to use between most of your devices, this is it.

You fully extend it then you put your hands close to the end of the where the two halves of the inside meet and kind of "snap it" out/back in. It will be two pieces with springs connecting them after that. There's a YouTube channel who does a lot of telescoping controller coverage called Game Tech Talk and I think he does that maneuver in their G8+ review. I recommend that channel in general but you should be able to see how easy it is in either their g8+ review or I think he also shows it in his latest tier list when he's on the g8+ section

Yeah basically. Read my comment above this one to get basic instructions, but definitely go look at Game Tech Talk's videos on the g8+ for a better visual on the maneuver to snap the two halves apart safely. You don't 'just' pull, you've gotta bend it to encourage the separation.

How does this compare to the Backbone? I recently got one for my Lightning iPhone 12 mini. Would this GameSir be compatible with that?

It's better than the backbone and it would work with your iPhone 12 mini over Bluetooth so yes it is compatible

It fits a Nintendo Switch so I assume the Ultra would be just fine.

Thanks OP, in for one. Apparently this also makes a great Nintendo Switch controller. And it will be able to fit your Switch 2 by the way.

The following tablets are recommended by the Gamesir Reddit community to take advantage of the new 215 mm width:

Lenovo y700 people freaking swear by this tablet since it's a gaming powerhouse but it does have a hefty price tag close to iPad mini, which also fits along with alldocube mini 60 and Samsung Tab S8.

Actually you can just extend this thing beyond without doing any modding.

I'll keep editing this as I find more recommendations.

Yes. I've got the A17 Pro mini and it will fit even with a thick case.
Thanks!

Idk if anyone cares but I posted a deal for the Abxylute S9 after I was researching it and saw it was on sale too. Of course it got downvoted immediately 😭 but hey if someone wants a type c alternative, give it a look.
