Man, reading the reviews on BB, it's pretty clear they don't have a clue what this is for.

If you need additional storage on your iPhone (15-16)—especially if you've got a spare NVMe SSD hanging around—this could be a pretty good way to go, or at least something to try.

It also looks like you can do better than the included cable if you're looking to keep the drive on a lot.

Isn't this for when you want to take RAW photos/video on iPhone that can only be enabled with external storage connected?

yeah but why wouldnt you just use a usbc to nvme adapter, this probably aggressively degrades speed and battery...

This seem to be only compatible with 2230 NVME SSDs like the ones you'd see inside a Steam Deck. If you have a spare NVME from your computer it might be a larger one, a 2280.

Although many laptops use the 2230 or 2242 sizes.

Eh, only bizarre it's at BB.

If you shoot video with an iPhone, this makes a lot of sense.

Gives you vastly more recording, and spares the cruddy eMMC from wear. Plus no need to export. Just plug into your PC and start editing.

A 2280 on the back of an iPhone is messy. Especially on a standard iPhone, and there's no way it would fit on an iPhone mini.

Most of these use 2230's.

Got a few Sandisk drives on clearance at Costco that are enclosed that do the same thing. I think it's a neat accessory but most people have 2280s.
