Magsafe NVME??? That seems like an ODD combination.

Great deal - it's a little bit longer than some other enclosures w/extra USB-C ports for charging and a wireless mic, but this one also includes 3.5mm jack which opens up options on lav mics.
For the people asking what it's for, it's mostly for content creators or just people that like taking a lot of video. You'll quickly fill up your internal storage, especially shooting prores/log, and many people edit their content on a pc/mac so this is plug and play storage. It also allows you to connect a charger and wireless mic by serving as a USB-C hub in addition to storage (you'll of course need to purchase a 2230 SSD separately).
I shoot a lot of video for both work and pleasure and currently use a USB-C hub to connect charging, a mic, and an external SSD, so this would streamline my rig a bit, especially being able to shoot without a cage for attaching accessories by use of the magsafe.

This seem to be only compatible with 2230 NVME SSDs like the ones you'd see inside a Steam Deck. If you have a spare NVME from your computer it might be a larger one, a 2280.

Although many laptops use the 2230 or 2242 sizes.
going over the reviews at Amazon, seems like it does support up to 2280?
even though the speed only goes up to pcie 3.0

Amazon sale is without return ... does it still make sense to buy from Amazon or get BB one instead ?

Man, reading the reviews on BB, it's pretty clear they don't have a clue what this is for.

If you need additional storage on your iPhone (15-16)—especially if you've got a spare NVMe SSD hanging around—this could be a pretty good way to go, or at least something to try.

It also looks like you can do better than the included cable if you're looking to keep the drive on a lot.

eg: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CL4XCYVB/

or

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D5H9ZP7L/

Those cables are great. I use one on my MBP where I keeps a M.2 SSD in a sleeve on the back of the monitor. It has worked great.

Amazon description says up to 2280 and did the measurements seems likely. I'd be down for this but reviews say has to have external power on iPhone so no go for me.
