Very strong odor. If you have a toilet with the button on the top of the tank, the bleach fumes will corrode it.
If you'd like the smell of bleach throughout your whole house, get these

The bleach will also eventually erode the flapper and depending on your type of toilet the gasket where the tank and toilet connects. As another post mentions, the only way to go if you want to inject chemicals into the toilet bowl is Kaboom or similar product that has a dedicated chamber to hold the chemicals. IMHO bromine does not off-gas or smell nearly as bad as the original Kaboom tablets so use them as a more economical replacement.
Yup. This is what I do with Kaboom. This is why you see new fancy toilets with their own reservoir to hold bleach tablets. I don't know why this hasn't been a thing before. Or how these have been on the market for so long. I learned the hard way by creating a leaky toilet, but how many customers don't learn their lesson and keep buying this junk? Stores definitely should have stopped stocking these to protect their customers. But of course it's better to sell something than to do the right thing.

All that to say the gaskets are getting dry.Did you even read it?
I assure you that a black EPDM showerhead washer from a water system that uses chloramine will not be "dry" in any way. It will smush into black goo on your fingers. Then they're all going to laugh at you for having black fingers. This is a polymer slowly turning back into a lessmer.

I'll give a dissenting opinion here that I didn't find them to be particularly strong in chlorine smell. It would be noticeable occasionally, usually right after a new one was put in or if the toilet sat unused for a few days (rare in our house). It might have to do with your particular water supply and what they use to disinfect in the water treatment plant. I know it's potentially dangerous to the seals and bolts in the tank, but in the occasional use we have had with these I haven't noticed anything amiss.

Account since 2016… and this is your 15th comment? On an always heavily SD promoted product that the majority of comments routinely slant against due to ineffectiveness and pungent odor.

Interesting. But anyways, these suck. Don't drop them in your tank as they will eat the rubber gaskets and develop a leak from the cistern bolts or the center boot. If anything, use ONE in a "kaboom" housing so it goes straight to the fill tube for the bowl.

That's how I use it too and it's been working great. Also a little cheaper than the Kaboom tablets.

I use bromine tablets in a tiny pool floater in the tank. Works great.

I bought these once and just threw them away because I felt like they were going to destroy the toilet.

This does not work. The tablet are tiny and they do not keep the toilet clean. Do not be fooled by packaging and the photos.
