Just "thumbs upping" this post on principle.
Welcome to team Firefly. It's been over 20 years and we are still very bitter.

Everyone recommends this show. I thought it was terrible. That and it literally glorifies prostitutes. Overall I recommend watching it because of how bad it is. It's certainly one of a kind. The movie also sucked. They used their hail Mary to get a new season (I think) and they chose to give a backstory on the reavers?

This one stands alone.

Great show. Fine price. Not a deal or sale though. Been this price at Apple since Dec 2020.
Yup… according to Blu-ray's price tracker, I have a target of $10 set (where it goes occasionally at Apple), and it has been down to $5 once.

This and Terra Nova really needed to be given more time, they were excellent and were just getting started.
100% agree. Even 1 more season of each could have closed some open questions.

FWIW, Serenity (UHD) is on Amazon Prime (included) for June.
Firefly is on Hulu in HD and CW (not HD). Of course, AppleTV and Amazon "sell" content for $15.

Terra Nova (HD) is also on Amazon Prime (included).

The Firefly story has kept moving thanks to books, comics and audiobooks. If your library is part of LibbyApp, then you may have access to 8+ Firefly audiobooks. They have good narration.

Everyone has different tastes. Nothing wrong with that. There's lots of TV and movies that each of us don't really like where the rest of the world seems to say they are fantastic. For me, Rocky and The Godfather don't hold *any* interest at all.

Everyone has different morals. Prostitution isn't illegal in much of the world, so clearly there's no agreement on that topic.
Every SciFi show has to make some compromises around reality. Rocket scientists and physicists bite our tongues whenever watching every scifi show set in space. There's no such thing as "gravity plating" nor will every moon/planet have Earth normal gravity. If the gravity is similar to Earth and you needed a huge rocket to get off Earth, then you'll need another huge rocket to leave every other planet too. Interstellar got that wrong and people enjoyed it.

I've owned the BR for years. It's a great story and it sucks they didn't do more with it. The movie was disappointment given the series content. If you like sci-fi or westerns, this is worth the watch. If you like both, it's a no-brainer.

Too bad the movie that concludes the TV show isn't included. That would make it a really good deal.
