Don't people know that Krispy Kreme uses trans fats? Why do people pay a profit making business to feed them pure poison? I think there's no amount of it that is not toxic. this thread would be super helpful if people would contact each business and find out exactly what kind of fat they use and report back. Probably most of it's gonna be unhealthy. but they can be made healthier and that's what people should ask for. even using pure pork lard or non-partially hydrogenated seed oil would be much healthier, which ain't saying much but won't end your life as quickly as trans fats.. But definitely beef fats, Avocado, palm oils would be so much better. Don't support a business that is spreading disease! Happy donut day!
Thanks, you made my decision so much easier for donut day.

Krispy Kreme it is!

only kk? some of the Costco deli and bakery products also contain trans fat, but you can see so many people lovin' those and defend those trans fat

I just checked their nutritional info for the classic glazed donut. The current info shows zero trans fats.

But definitely beef fats, Avocado, palm oils would be so much better. Don't support a business that is spreading disease! Bad fats will ruin your health quicker than any sugars. Happy donut day! (that was sarcasm)Edit: I checked with AI before I posted this because I knew a few years back Krispy Kreme was using pure trans fats to fry in. I forgot how dumb AI could be and it seems that they have since changed. But there's probably some amount of trans fats still in it " Even a plain Krispy Kreme, with no filling or decoration, uses half a gram per doughnut - the level of trans fats that NICE deems unhealthy, and which would be illegal in Denmark. But there's probably some amount of trans fats still in it "…except maybe in New York City which has banned trans fats. anyway yes I think saturated fats are much healthier than non- saturated fats. that goes contrary to conventional sources but they're wrong. Saturated fats are only bad for a smaller percentage (but maybe up to 30% of the population) of people who have really bad family histories of heart attacks and strokes at a young age…I've only tried Krispy Kreme once that A guest had brought, and I knew it was trashy because it tasted so shitty when it was cold. I couldn't believe how bad it was given how people gush over them, I suspected bad fat so I actually called the manager of the store and he admitted to me sheepishly that they did use trans fats to fry in and told me that they only taste good when they're hot.
Same reason why people still drink Coca Cola. Legislators are lobbied by the companies' reps stating that they have no proof that Trans Fats and High Fructose Corn Syrup leads to diabetes or cardiovascular disease.

In any case, I would be happy to live up until like 70 years old, the male life expectancy. We will all kick the bucket at some point.

I am not falling for Krispy Kreme. The location near me is NOT going to give that doughnut for free. I hope it appears as an in app offer, the only way I will have it documented when I get it. Hopefully, they do not pull a Subway and state that they are not doing that promotion and find a way to not give me the free doughnut. Lol.

FYI: Did you know your comment is the only one on here, so far, that has been downvoted to oblivion? Kind of suffering my fate. Lol.

The FDA allows these companies to put zero if it is under 0.5 grams.

Last time, my local Krispy Kreme didn't have any signs up that everyone picking up orders still had to line up in the regular line. Wasted half hours in pickup line till I got to them, and for some reason, the manager decided to tell us to line up when I get to the front. Waited another half hour till I was almost to the front again and they told us they're sold out and they need to push out orders for deliveries and drive through. They sent all of us away and told us to come back in 2 hours. Absolutely trash management at my local Krispy Kreme.

Why did you not go through the drive thru to pick up? Where I am at, everyone goes to the drive thru. Higher priority. People in my area drive thru so much that there are even liquor drive thrus and book drop off drive thrus at the library (never thought I would have seen that in my lifetime).

That is what I was surprised about too. I had a discussion with my mom about this. Costco never was intended to be a healthy food store as much as we would believe, like Whole Foods or any others one can think of. Costco is a for profit like everyone else and they will not shortcut if they can find a way to make their products indulgent. They are more ethical Walmart, treat their workers better, not the consumer. Lol.

I'm old fashioned and it's usually faster in store. The drive through was for people doing new order, not for pickups. It was awhile back when there was some coupon going around where people were getting a free dozen. They did it to themselves where they overloaded themselves with orders and couldn't handle them all. They should have just disabled the coupon or invalidated all the later orders instead of wasting everyone's time who had their pickup orders ready to go.

I'll still go once or twice a year when I see them on the "too good to go" app though. They usually give out the leftovers, a dozen for $6 and it's not the original glazed either. Only thing is you need to be there within a very specific 30 minute window late at night like 10:00-10:30pm. I would do it if I were staying out late that night in that area but not really worth it to drive 20 minutes just to grab it late at night.

Krispy Kreme is usually swarmed on these free donut days, enough to block traffic. Not worth it for nasty donuts.
Now, if you want some delicious donuts from a little family owned shop called Crispie Creme....
