Pairing a 5090 with a 285 should be considered a hate crime

9800X3D is about 30% faster at 1080p. Even if you never run 1080p, it will also age much, much better than the 285 allowing you to keep the computer much longer. They did it to save a few bucks in parts costs (and not really that much) especially considering the original MSRP is $5500.

If you are buying this for productivity/work, it will do fine, but if you are a gamer, then there is a lot to gain with the AMD CPU's

This is a steal considering the price of the GPU itself is hovering around 3K+

I'm just curious, why would someone buy a $3000 GPU but play games at 1080p…?

I hope to go 1080P soon but I'm still gaming at 1024 x 768 is this a good Pc for that?

This is an okay deal. If you build this on your own (maybe with 9800x3d instead) it would probably set you back around an additional 200-300 bucks.

I bought a power spec 4 years back and after a year the screen started flickering white until nothing, two years later it wouldn't charge anymore. Not saying all power specs are bad but I am not trusting that brand ever again.

5090 to game at 1080p?Anyone getting this will be gaming at 4k. If you want 1440p then a 5070ti is more than enough for less than half the cost.

Even though the OP was trying to make a point about performance, a lot of competitive gaming utilizes 1080p.

Going down in price? One card has a lower the price on newegg everything else looks to be business as usual. What cards have lower prices?

Pricing and a influx of inventory helped nerf demand and reselling market. But NVIDIA has pretty much signaled that there will be a shortage near the end of the year, because they are shifting production towards AI cards.
