I used to have the 70mai A800S from 2020 to 2024. This dash cam delivers clear, high-resolution footage with license plates easily legible. If video quality is your top priority, it won't disappoint. Pros: Excellent video clarity at 4K resolution. License plates and road signs remain crisp, even at higher speeds. Reliable day-and-night performance with minimal motion blur. Cons: Uses an internal lithium battery instead of a super capacitor, which can degrade quickly if you live in Arizona. Battery replacement is tricky and requires disassembling the casing. Plastic housing is fragile—after two battery swaps over five years, the shell crackedWhile the A800S excels at capturing detailed footage, its reliance on a replaceable lithium battery—and the fragile casing that surrounds it—detracts from long-term durability. If you're comfortable handling delicate internals, it remains a solid choice; otherwise, consider models with built-in super capacitors for added peace of mind.
