If you don't need spatial audio or Sonos integration, these Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S2 for $199 with Costco return policy are amazing. They blow away Bose Quietcomfort, Sony 1000MX5, in terms of build quality & sound quality, with a slight disadvantage in ANC. They blow away Apple Air Pods Max in terms of sound quality, comfort, and value, having similar build quality at half the price.

Best headphones on the market under $200.

I have both (1st Gen) AirPod Max and the Sonos Ace. They are both very well made as compared to my Sony XM4 and my old Bose. Sound wise, I prefer the the AirPod Max but not by much. The Sonos Ace is more comfortable to use because it is lighter than the AirPod and its battery last longer. I think they are about the same when it comes to noise cancellation. So when I travel, I bring the Sonos Ace and I use my AirPod max at home.

At this price point, is one better than the other? Sonos at $200, AirPod max at 400?

I sold my Aces for the AirPod Max. I have a big head (size 8 baseball cap) and big ears. The ear cup design on the APM work better for me since they're softer and large enough for my ears. The Aces had a tighter clamping force that I didn't like.

2 issues I think with the sonos ace
1. Noise cancelation is okay, most of the time I am able to hear anything loud, like airplane announcements which was not the case on Bose Ultra
2. The mic performance isn't great, on calls I have had tough time, the other person can not hear me well whenever I am outdoors.

Pairing with s25Ultra mostly if that matters.

For that price I would go with super low latency AIAIAI wireless professional DJ headphones. Amazing sound, great battery life, not heavy, amazing comfort, parts are replaceable and super easy to fix. No Noise cancelling though.

Bowers are awesome but unfortunately most people don't know the brand if they are not audiophiles, so they think they are cheesy.

I got my Sony XM4s for $120, 10/10 would recommend (XM5s suck though).

Sonos is a shady brand that has a history of screwing over their customers, bricking devices, shitty customer service, and all around enshittification of their products. If you're going to spend a bunch of money on headphones, I'd recommend Sony, Bose, or even high end NC Dell headphones over these.

Keep an eye out for Sony XM4s if you're looking for a good deal, those are pretty nice but becoming cheaper because the XM6 is coming out (would not recommend XM5s due to hinge issues).
I have the XM4 and they do sound good - but the mic is terrible. If you need them for work, look at XM6 or another option. I'm using the Logitech Pro X wireless for calls (with their software boost) and would love to consolidate to one set of headphones...

I've been using mine for work just fine, you might have an issue with your headphones. Logitech is another company I don't hesitate to recommend though I've only used their mice.

I bought the Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S2 from Costco at $149 and love them. They're super comfortable to wear and the sound is amazing. The only thing I don't like is that the case is a little bit oversized. Noise cancellation is pretty good too. You cannot hear the flight attendants.

You absolutely right on the build quality of the bowers. The sound from the px7 definitely not better than the Sony. I'm hoping the S3 better.
