I bought this TV a couple months back at 499 and it was a great deal at that price so for 419 this is really good. I am extremely happy with it. It has no light bleed around the edges like most of these low-cost TVs have especially the Hisense and very little blooming. The local dimming does a really good job. The sound is also good even though I have a receiver hooked up to it but the TV has a built-in subwoofer. If anybody has questions about this TV just ask. The fire TV built in on this TV is kind of laggy but I have a fire cube 3rd gen hooked up to it so that didn't really matter to me.

Biggest differences are... the 2023 Q7 series adds: 120Hz panel, more brightness, more dimming zones.

Do you know how many dimming zones this Q681F has?

I can't find anything definitive.

I do not think this has great local dimming. Best Buy says "direct lit," not full array local dimming

This is not local dimming it also gets a worse rating than the Samsung DU7200 that was $399 at Walmart the other week

The Q651 is different than the Q681. The Q681 series (not tested by Rtings) does have local dimming as it says on the BB website. Also... the Q651 has been updated to Rtings' latest testing method (more strict v2.0) while the DU7200 (v1.11) has not. FWIW... the Q651 rated higher than the DU7200 under testing method v1.11.

It literally says "Full array local dimming" here in the description and on TCL's website. Why bother posting when you don't know what you're talking about.

I found this.
"While both the Q65 and the Q68 are QLED TVs, the latter offers QLED Pro technology with full array local dimming. This more expensive model has up to 150 local dimming zones and a peak brightness level of 600 nits."

from what I'm reading it's 60hz @ 4k, 120hz @ 1440p. Built in Fire TV.... I guess that's better than Roku, I guess. All the built in stuff gets useless real quick anyway.

But it's big and cheap.

This link to the TCL official page says 60hz and FALD

If you don't buy them often, wait for BF. If you are irresponsible like me, buy a new one every 6 months

I used to think I would hate FireTV OS, but honestly it's got some nice features. For a bedroom tv, it's great to be able to pair a couple echos and the echo sub to it (you might already even have them, like I did). And create a "Amazon theater". Granted, it's no replacement for a high quality soundbar or actual theater components, but for a bedroom, with an echo on each nightstand and the sub tucked away in the corner it's pretty great for listening to music in bed or watching movies. I'd get a 75" for the bedroom absolutely
