Doesn't get much cheaper than this for a 7-string. It's also nice that it doesn't have the normal hideous headstock that has kept me from ever buying a Jackson.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I love the Jackson headstock on a six string.

I owned one of these for a while.
This guitar is visually unimpressive, but it's actually quite nice to play. Compound radius, low action, surprisingly good fretwork. It's a good overall package.
Pickups are perfectly serviceable. By no means impressive, but also good enough to not warrant immediate replacement.
Tuners are really mediocre.
Heel joint is as awkward as it looks. Really wish they would have contoured it slightly. Would have made this guitar basically the best option under $300.
The active/soapbar pickup shape does limit your selection of pickups that will fit nicely. Pegasus/Sentient by Seymour Duncan are offered in active mount though, and those would be my pick for a guitar like this anyway.
26.5" scale length is a nice perk.
Perfect guitar if you need a low-cost backup, a 7 string in a different tuning, or you just want to experiment with a 7 string. IMO you're getting more than your money's worth with this one. The only hard ceiling in terms of modability is the heel joint.
