It's a Paramount movie. So, not MA compatible.

The storyline is not original at all if you're familiar with the first Star Wars movie.
Same can be said if you're familiar with the original Top Gun movie, which was better.

If you have even a half way decent setup, this is pretty much a must have on disc imo!

The PQ/AQ transfer is considered reference material.

No Atmos or HDR unless you are on the upgraded no-Ad plan. I purchased this movie before they made that switch, and it's the last movie I will buy from Amazon that does not support Movies Anywhere. I should have just bought the Blu-Ray.

Topgun 1984 was 100X better than this garbage!
I feel the exact opposite. We rewatched the original and it did not live up to our memory of it. Generally kind of uninspired and almost creepy at times. I thought this was one of the rare cases where the sequel was better than the original.

Funny when he visits Iceman who has a head of gray hair and Tom Cruise's head is nothing but black hair. C'mon Tom, gray hair makes a man look distinguished. He should've had a little gray on the sides at least. He looked ridiculous.

Yeah, I had fond memories of the original but I'm sure it won't hold up today. This sequel was really highly rated and we just laughed throughout the movie at how absurd the whole thing was. I was the one in my house who hyped it up because of the ratings and the expected action scenes but it was just so... dumb. Not dumb in a 'mindless action flick' way either. It really took itself seriously and it really shouldn't have.

There were also scenes where Tom just looks OLD. I know most of the movie he still looks pretty young, but the makeup artists failed a few scenes.
The whole premise of the 2nd movie was a big miss for me. 40 years later, everyone else is married, or worked up the chain of command but here old, loser Tom is sitting around unmarried and a big nothing. 40 years! But he's the best pilot ever? Logically, it was all a big disconnect and just a bunch of rehashed action scenes. I'll wait for a $2 deal.

We just gotta fly through this narrow canyon and then shoot the target in this small hole! laugh out loud

I usually wait to buy movies on disc with the all three options included: 4k disc, 1080p disc and digital. This movie has been out a few years on disc so most likely the digital codes included have expired. Plus people had mentioned the digital code only worked with Paramount or they had issues getting it to work at all. I might buy this for $5 since I haven't bought it on disc yet.
