It works very well, very focused wind (not very wide spread) and a very high pitched whine due to the nature of it being more like a turnbine than a fan.
Same as the new high powered air blower units.
Her goal was something that actually cooled her down, didn't chop off her fingers with exposed blades, etc and so this checked all the boxes and then some becuse how it can be used on a table or around your neck not just hand held like her first one was.
I also got the bulkier version, as in that sale thread is was the older bigger version on sale, not this newer sleeker model.
This one is defintitly sleeker and more comfortable and portable, but id wait for the 4000mah version to be on sale for a few $ more.
If anything is going to be a problem, it would be running out of battery out and about while you actually need it.
FWIW they advertise the 4000mah version for "up to 12 hours" so that means best case on speed 1 of 5. That probably means less than 6 hours on speed 3, and thus the smaller half capacity only an hour and a half at speed 3.
Take that into mind when buying, as well as the fact the battery will degrade over time.

Costco has a 2 pack neck fan on sale for $26.99 in-store through 6/15 if she's looking for something to use around her neck.

Unless you really need this lighter-weight version, go for the other one if the code still works.
I just got this version. It produces a lot of air. At level 1 even an arms length away is too much air for comfort for me. The noise is also annoying.
