I just got the 4000mah version delivered the other night for my wife.
It works very well, very focused wind (not very wide spread) and a very high pitched whine due to the nature of it being more like a turnbine than a fan.

Same as the new high powered air blower units.

Her goal was something that actually cooled her down, didn't chop off her fingers with exposed blades, etc and so this checked all the boxes and then some becuse how it can be used on a table or around your neck not just hand held like her first one was.

I also got the bulkier version, as in that sale thread is was the older bigger version on sale, not this newer sleeker model.

This one is defintitly sleeker and more comfortable and portable, but id wait for the 4000mah version to be on sale for a few $ more.

If anything is going to be a problem, it would be running out of battery out and about while you actually need it.

FWIW they advertise the 4000mah version for "up to 12 hours" so that means best case on speed 1 of 5. That probably means less than 6 hours on speed 3, and thus the smaller half capacity only an hour and a half at speed 3.

Take that into mind when buying, as well as the fact the battery will degrade over time.
I believe this is the old 4k mah version that is better. Was able to get the white one for $10.53 before tax. https://a.co/d/f0MWLb3

Costco has a 2 pack neck fan on sale for $26.99 in-store through 6/15 if she's looking for something to use around her neck.

Adding to the growing pile of people who bought the 4k mAh version. If you can get the code for it working, it's worth getting that one instead for the extra buck or two. It's good, if a bit loud. But price/dollar, the other one is more use time for nearly the same cost.

Unless you really need this lighter-weight version, go for the other one if the code still works.

I just got this version. It produces a lot of air. At level 1 even an arms length away is too much air for comfort for me. The noise is also annoying.

FYI, those fans can be uncomfortable because it's covering your neck. The air also doesn't get blown onto your face

I found that placing a wet towel (such as the cooling ones [costco.com] that Costco used to sell) between my skin and the neck fan helps to reduce discomfort, and also makes the air a little cooler (at least in low humidity, I have not tested it in high humidity conditions). And the air in my unit does blow upward toward my face, but not uncomfortably so.

It's true that your neck where you wear it will remain hot and sweaty, however it does blow air up the back and sides of your head. I wear mine while at the gym every morning and was able to get 3-4 hours of use on high setting before having to recharge. My biggest complaint is having a beard, it'll occasionally snag my hair, it doesn't hurt but is startling if you're on a bike and hear it happening haha. For the price you can't complain too much though. I'd def get it again

I've bought 6 of these damn things now at $9-$10 a pop. Everyone in my family (and extended family) want them when they see it. It works really well with cooling towels.
