Mushroom coffees aren't inherently a scam, and have been around since at least WWII, when traditional coffee was hard to come by. They're basically just a coffee or tea alternative.

Now, whether people buy in to all of the supposed health benefits some makers put on the label is one thing. But doctors will often recommend mushroom coffee to patients who are suffering from adrenal fatigue, stress, or who experience digestive issues when drinking traditional coffee.

That's how I was first introduced to it, through my doctor, when my caffeine intake was causing a variety of health problems. That was about 4 years ago and now I seldom drink traditional coffee. Since switching, I no longer experience the "caffeine crash", digestive issues, and heart palpitations I had with traditional coffee.

I've tried a variety of brands and blends of mushroom coffee, and particularly like the ones blended with cardamom and turmeric. They have a nice subtle earthy flavor, taste great with a splash of half and half and honey (or maple syrup if you're looking for added sweetness), and reminds me a lot of Turkish coffee in texture. The best way I can describe it to someone who has never had it before is that it tastes a bit like a chai latte.

My wife's grandmother falls for every Facebook scam product (before that QVC) and just started drinking mushroom coffee.

I asked her about it and when she started talking about lions mane I realized this is probably another psychosomatic health product but it's her money and she is in her 80s so I left it alone.

I don't know if any of this stuff is regulated by the FDA or any agency at all but be careful with what you put in your body.

Will I see the wall breathing 30 minutes after drinking this? Does it taste like cow field?

Jokes aside, this isn't like that bat dung coffee bean stuff is it? Weird wild stuff.

Nah dawg. That isn't what these are. These aren't coffee alternatives. This is coffee. Check the ingredients. It's crappy powdered coffee that they are telling us is better for us because it has lions mane added to it.
There are a million of these companies all selling this same combo. It's always sold with real coffee and tea or B12 vitamins. In my opinion what makes it a scam is that they are attaching their product to something they know works. Caffeine. And through the power of suggestion, making you think that you feel the way you do afterward because of the shrooms tincture. But it's not. You feel the way you do because of the caffeine that the coffee provided.
The people that have bought into this stuff will get mad at me for saying this. But whatever. Enjoy your placebo effect. If it works for you, go for it. I'm not telling you not to. Just trying to help others.
