Just felt like updating on this, I got them and they are indeed soft. Not quite butter, which I find more slick and greasy-esque.

However, the pockets are so shallow that even medium sized phones stick out. It's definitely a deal killer considering I can't leave my phone down, let alone think about working out without a phone to document said activities.
