The Vudu deal part is dead (back to $10). Film is not MA for those wondering.
If you have not seen this movie, get it now. Superb movie on its own, but also a phenomenal experience from a film making perspective. Also, if you ever get to hear the commentary that was on the criterion release, that might shed additional light on cultural nuances that might be lost on Western and modern viewers.
Star Wars was actually inspired by another Kurosawa film called The Hidden Fortress

Looks like it's still in the sale but went up to $10 on FAH today. It's like someone there is watching for particular titles to be posted so they can switch the price during the rush. This is the second one I've missed at $5 by a day.

Hey Vudu/FaH - Don't be evil by jacking up your sale prices because of interest.

The movie that inspired Star Wars and the Magnificent Seven. I have to admit the fight scenes weren't the best, but they were close to how a fight would look in reality.

I understand that Criterion won't be MA. What kills it for me is Amazon as the platform and the non-inclusion of bonus content, especially for a movie like this. For non-MA platforms, my order of preference is Apple, Fandango/Vudu and then ???. I put Amazon down there with Microsoft.
