If I remember correctly, there are two different encoding strengths for magstripes. Low coercivity (dark brown magstripe) and high coercivity (dark black magstripe). Low coercivity is encoded via a weaker magnetic field strength and is more easily corrupted (cheap 1 use cards). High coercivity is encoded via a stronger magnetic field strength and is more resistant to external corruption (credit/debit cards).
I bought this in the coffee color a few months ago for 7.99 and absolutely love it. It's a nice sturdy leather and the magnetic money clip is really strong. I can easily fold 15-20 bills in it without having the worry about any falling out.
FWIW I've never had problems with credit cards, but I have a wallet with a magnetic money clip (not this brand) that kills hotel key cards constantly.

Looks just like a wallet I got a few years back off Amazon that is slim. I used to have expensive real leather wallet that were far more bulky. Now I roll with slim wallets like this. I don't have the magnetic option so I'm grabbing this to see how I like that versus just tucking the bills inside.

Nowhere near strong enough to demagnetize the strip or affect the electronics.

This is nice but then I'd have to get a coin purse.

I thought that's what pockets were for?

Sure, but then why would I need a wallet? I could just keep my cards and cash with coins in my pocket.

I guess I could get a coin dispenser belt like the train engineers used to wear.

I have a version of this. Great for the front pocket. Realistically, good for about 4 card, a license, and some cash. More cards if you don't carry cash but it's really meant to carry cash.

I've been using a fro t pocket wallet for close to 20 years. I have one now from Columbia, but it's beginning to show some wear. I'll take a flyer on this for $5. Thanks

That's good to know. I need to carry about 8 debit/credit cards and some cash. So, something not as slim I suppose. : \
