Decent deal. A year ago I got the 7735HS/32GB/512GB version of this for $300. Only sent it back because the NVMe was hitting 90C temps regularly and would throttle. It had a 2.5" SATA slot which was nice but I think this one lacks it. No malware.

Expect no support.

I installed a new hard drive and needed drivers. Their driver hosting hit its limit (they use Google drive) so I emailed them for a possible different server link. I got an auto reply (this was the beginning of May) that the whole company was closed a week for a holiday and they'll respond back afterward.

Acemagic mini-pcs have built-in malware that not even a reformat or BIOS upgrade can clean. Avoid

They responded about 10 days afterward and just fixed the download links. I didn't wait for that. I installed the original hard drive and used PowerShell to extract the drivers from the OEM image.

Ace Magic aka Ace Magician and some other names was caught selling mini pc's with a hacked activation of Windows several times. I wouldn't touch there products even if it was free.

They are a Chinese based company with virtually zero support. Any drivers, bios updates are on a Google Drive share. If a component breaks or fails, good luck getting it fixed.

**Avoid all Chinese companies that make computers**

They are CHEAP for a reason....

yeah who gives a rats arse, all these products are chinese. No need for xenophobia. Ace Magic is a crap company that did have an issue, so dont buy their stuff. AceMagician is the same company. Get a GMKtek, Beelink, Trigkey, etc. Personally I am running a Aoostar N1 PRo as home assistant system and a Gem12 another to provide brains top my security camera system.

Could you not have extracted any drivers needed on to a usb memory stick, before replacing the hard drive?

Boy don't you look stupid now and for godsake you have a pro tag next to your name. At least make a 5 second google effort to check it out. this is just one malware found. there are others where even a BIOS flash is ineffective in fixing the embedded malware.

Some chinese mini-pc makers are better than others. Definitely avoid Acemagic.

You did not understand that video, neither what a malware is. And that Bios upgrade, is a made up thing by your brain, unable to comprehend the technicality of the subject. Yes, they had Malware long back (Which is highly exaggerated in the 1st place) and a clean Windows Install will simply remove that. Why BIOS upgrade will remove malware from Window in the 1st place? I think you now understand the stupidity of your claim. Try it home yourself, install a Malware in your computer and then do a BIOS update and see if the malware is gone or not.
Now regarding the actual incident, that has been over exaggerated by some YouTubers out of proportion. The Malware found is basically a bypass tool which allow an user to log in to Windows 11 without creating a Microsoft account which their developer and testers were using. It is an Exploit of bypassing Windows Security, not a malware which collects your data and sends it. They clarified, that somehow, in the 1st batch, those were not not removed before delivery. After that incident, multiple YouTubers and Reviewers have tested their next batches of Products and could not find any. I personally own one and never had any Malware.
Anyway, if the above words are too hard for you to understand, start reading what Malware is and why BIOS update will not remove a Malware installed in the OS. I think you confused BIOS integrated information gathering software with Malware and that has been done in the past by an US Company only.
