In for one. I see this goes a few dollars lower at times ($35), but I can't count the amount of times that I need a work light and have to go grab a plug in one.

There's an argument that dedicated flashlights will give you better performance and there is some truth to that argument. The specific benefits of this are:

Flood light. When doing work you want your whole work area lit up evenly rather than one spot brightly lit. This has a nice even flood.

Orientation. The heavy battery keeps it in place and the adjustable neck allows you to point the light where you need it.

Battery. If you are in the Dewalt ecosystem, you likely have a bunch of battery sitting around already. They are also quite large, meaning you don't have to worry about the battery running out of power.

It's a good flashlight for somebody already in the Dewalt ecosystem. Otherwise there are similar or better alternatives for less money.

Got this on a previous deal from woot, and I'm very happy with it. For what it's worth, the one I received is type 12 which is 1000 and 300 lm.

Of course it can... just be aware of the weight depending on what size battery you are using.

I feel that tool lights are obsolete for non-tradesman. I wanted one badly but unwilling to spend $100. So I got the HF ICON work light. Best light ever. Lite weight and flexible. Magnet mount. Dozens of similar lights. Battery last 3-4 hours which is more than a homeowner would need. I could see using this for camping. Put a 5ah battery and it should run all weekend, but it is too heavy and bulky for everyday projects. For an average homeowner, throw away the flashlights and get a battery operated wand flashlight. Best $20-$40 you will spend.
