These make great Plex servers for transcoding.

Yeah, but as I've mentioned in prior threads, they're lousy as Windows PCs. If you want a PC to use on your desktop and not with Linux, I'd spend a little more on one of the Ryzen mini PCs. The N95 and N150 are not great.

It's amazing how low the prices for mini PCs are getting. I'm hoping that a "gaming" mini PC comes out for mid-level games around the $500 price point later in the year. Fingers crossed.

I have yet to see one with a discrete GPU, though. A few have Oculink but you still have to buy the GPU separately.

Dang it, already copped the KAMRUI Mini PC, 16GB DDR4 RAM 512GB M.2 SSD, Mini Computer Intel Twin Lake N150 (Upgraded N100, 4 Cores). Worth returning and getting this?

Try it out first. I ended up returning mine and getting a Ryzen, as I noted above. I doubt the DDR5 will make a significant difference.

i am an engineer and work in a vdi without issue with this box. not even a blip on the radar, i have 3 monitors connected and its been great. i have also worked locally outside the vdi and havent had any issues. definitely recommend!

I'm curious for anyone's experience using these as a moonlight / sunshine setup for game streaming to a TV?

PSA yes the n150 works out of the box with libreelec BUT you need a nightly build. That being said the nightly has a pretty cool new to me feature that buffers the movie to your pc. This works great when your harddrive is failing on your NAS and will go off-line for 10-40 seconds randomly.

thinking about getting a 2nd for router (probably pfsense). anyone ever try it for that (I know it should be overkill but I would like real world feedback)

I would get the Aoostar N1 Pro over this one because it has dual 2.5Gbps LAN ports (instead of 1Gbps) and can be had for the same price.

These PCs are great for general use applications (email, web surfing, youtube, MS Office, photo editing, etc.) and can even be used to do some light 1080p video editing. They're also great for retro arcade/console gaming or playing some older PC games at lower resolutions/settings.

You might want to consider getting a laptop instead since you'll spend about the same once you add a keyboard, mouse, and monitor. Most laptops will be more powerful than the N150 CPU used in this mini PC.

This will work with game streaming to a TV, though I would use a wired LAN connection when doing so to keep latency as low as possible. Just be aware this has an HDMI 2.0 port so it's limited to 60Hz at 4K resolution.
