So, I believe these work on newer systems, I checked protondb (https://www.protondb.com/app/750920?device=pc) the store reviews and the steam message boards (which is a good thing to do if you are worried about a game) and only see one person complaining about TR rise not working, and they seem like an isolated event.

Also note, if you have the system now and buy directly through steam, you have 14 days to request a refund (as long as you dont exceed two hours of gameplay, and even then you can get exceptions depending on the exact issues involved), So if possible just buy and try right away.

TBF you can always get screwed later on when devs (usually large publishers) change the game to add requirements or drm that screw the players (usually linux - and by extension steam deck users)

Thank you, this link is really gonna help me for future references, because some old games are really good, but they are close to impossible to make them run on newest hardware.

btw I checked Far Cry 3 I can see hundreds of issues. The game is definitely a master piece but it's almost impossible to play it with no crashes.

The one I played is on PC, it was terrible unstable. I manage to finish the game but only after spending hours researching about how to fix the issues.

I've been occasionally nibbling at another playthru of Shadow of the Tomb Raider on my rig* and haven't experienced any crashes. I fired up Rise of the Tomb Raider, ran the benchmark (218 fps at 3440 x 1440) and ran around the Geothermal Valley for a bit and no hiccups, but didn't play long. Don't have TR2013 installed cuz I played it like 2-1/2 times in 2013 and don't have it currently installed. (Barely have time for the games I haven't finished once.

I recently installed and played a bit of the first game in the trilogy and it worked fine in my pc with a 5000 series RTX card.
