I tried to change the title to include the free SSD but I couldn't. Sale ending in 8 hours.

How can this cpu be the best for gaming when it's only 8 core?

Do you consider 7zip a game?

Core count is not that important for games.

Not a huge discount, but the few bucks off and it includes a 1tb isn't bad.

The "X3D" with extra cache for the cpu to use is helpful in bumping up gaming performance, and at some point more cores have diminishing returns for games and the gpu is the more important part.

Also, I don't know about the 9XXX generation, but I think there was a difference in the physical architecture on the 7800X3D that made the X3D chips with more cores actually perform slower (not by a major difference) after a certain core count had a physical limitation. I might be misremembering the technical parts of the issue, but the best gaming chip was not the highest core count chip.

I heard the new city skyline 2 needs more cores to run better.

That is likely a game that benefits with more cores, vs mega cache. The cache itself has limited returns after a certain point

Well the beauty with the AMD platform is you can upgrade the CPU years down the road to something better. I think they claimed another 2 years of new processors for the AM5 socket.
