I bought similar multiple round pads and magsafe in the past and they all overheated. Yes i have to take it seriously. I don't want to fry my phones. I'm still curious because there are some 4-5 start reviews so i bought it. If it doesn't work i'll return.
In my experience, the most common reason for overheating while charging any mobile device, is using mismatched, old/outdated, faulty or low-quality A/C adapters. I have had the best experience and highly recommend Motorola/Lenovo adapters.

I use Anker 735 65w, Motorola stock chargers and cables that came with my 2024 phones and older samsungs. Definitely rated 15+w. The pad is coming today.
