This is used to convert DC power, like power from a car battery for example, into pure sine wave AC power, like the power electronics expect from your home's wall outlet. Cheaper alternatives often don't output the pure sine wave AC that sensitive electronics require. This can be used to make your own larger battery power supply like those used while camping or in RVs (hence the brand name).

You do realize that is 200 amps and 2awg wire right? Even these 1000 watt units sound ridiculous at 12v source. You might as well jump to 24v or 48v systems.

Yea an 8 amp 120v blower is pretty tame. The lowest ive seen is 500 watts inverter blower, but that was for a <2000sqft house.

Yeah I agree, anything more than ~1000W you really should move to 24V or 48V. I ended up with a 5000W 48V inverter and it barely blinks when running 2500W continuous. And yes, you really need to think about your wiring at these power levels, but I think most people know this.

The armchair geniuses that i work with think like household wiring works on both sides. "yea just get the 2000 watt so its over rated instead of the 1000 watt, hell my genie is 10,000 watts". Then they think you can just use 12-14awg "because its only enough to max out one plug". I kinda get through to them by just says "add a zero to all your calculations on the 12v side". Then going from 1000 to 2000 sounds alot bigger when they start thinking going from 10,000 genie to a 20,000, then its a whole new ball game. At least i have a few friends in the DB drag racing scene that understand current/watts/12v and understand life below awg and start saying "4 ott".

Power is tough to wrap your head around if you're not willing to put a lot of thought into it. I just hope that manuals and thick wiring kits that often come with inverters are hints people should pause. It's a lot of math. Basic math, but still a lot, and I hope people spend the time to do it, especially at high wattage since you start getting outside what most people encounter day to day (usually 14/12/10 gauge). 2000W+ inverters start needing 6/4/2/0 gauge and special tools and connectors.
