Ménage à trois? Throuple?

Some people don't see that as a problem

This book series gets better as it progresses. A little slow in the beginning especially as the author switches between the main story line and the 'virtual alien-world'. But once you get past that, his imagination just takes off. The last book was co-authored but still worth reading through to the end.

Netflix series is pretty decent and hoping they don't cancel it. The part with the ship through the canal was disturbing to read in the book and just as disturbing to watch in the series - they didn't flinch away from depicting what was written.

The story is set in six dimensions, sadly the characters are strictly two dimensional.

I wanted to like it but made it about 75% through the first book before giving up. It was just so slow. Maybe I'll try again sometime.

Agree, it was unbearably slow (and the characters were extremely flat)

I read every day - usually finish around 40+ books a year, mostly SF. This was a DNF for me -one of the VERY few. While there are some interesting concepts, there is a section in the middle of pure exposition that is so absolutely atrocious that it honestly made me quit right then and there. I then decided to read the synopsis for the rest of the series as I knew I wasn't going to finish it. I was glad I did, and didn't feel sad that I hadn't read it.

Halfway through and I'm struggling to keep going. The writing style is really flat.

As others have said, you better be interested in the scientific concepts depicted rather than a character driven story if you want to finish. It kept my attention enough to finish, but I won't be going to the next book in the series.

It got too abstract for me and yeah, very slow.
