1) do you have to use the app to pay at the gas station in order to get the discount? If yes, do credit card / Apple Pay discounts stack on top?
2) how do you get the cash back ? Is it automatically discounted when paying with app, or does it collect in the app? If it collects in the app how do you get the $?

I've used the Earnify app for the $.10 and $.20 discounts. You add your payment information to the app and when you get to a participating gas station, the app will recognize that. You will then enter the pump number you are at and it will "unlock" the pump and apply your discount. The discount is applied right at the pump and payment is done through the app.
