Happy to be proven wrong, but doesn't seem like much of a sale. A billion of these on Amazon between $40-$55 with the exact same design with a different Chinese name and different (better) colors.

You are correct. I bought one of these ice makers from woot a few months ago, and it was defective out of the box. The infrared sensor was defective, so it thought the basin was full of ice and wouldn't make any. Reviews for these consumer levels machines are always either bad or fake. I really wish that wasn't the case.

Too bad, my mom actually wants one of these countertop ice makers but as a random gift I wouldn't want to spend much or get something large.

Got a very similar unit off of Temu for $30 a few months back and it's great, very quickly makes the small almost sonic style crunchy ice. The only issue is cleaning it every other month or so can be a little cumbersome but not a deal breaker. If you can still get it on Temu for that price w/ shipping and tarrifs, I'd do that. Otherwise Amazon returns may be the better option for a little more.

Why does this have any thumbs up? This is average price for these
