I ran the Challenger 6s almost daily on my 3-month backpacking Eurotrip, and I was very happy with them. I like the style, they held up remarkably well (longest out of my 4 different Hokas), and no particular issues I can recall. Hiked a couple mountains in 'em, walked around the city, etc. They really are all-terrain.

Overall I think I like the Cliftons a bit better for the extra comfort (these feel slightly more "bare"), but they're great shoes. Fairly comparable to the Cliftons in terms of feel more generally though, I thought - again, just a little more bare and rugged. I much prefer them to the other two Hoka styles I've owned (Kawana + Mach 6).

These are my go-tos for gravel and packed dirt trail running. No Vibram sole and rocky trails will cause the foam to look like a mouse has been eating it, so it's not great for more technical terrain.
I wear 11 wide in these and have bought 2 pairs of 11.5s on clearance recently. I find the sized up regular width too tight for anything more than ~10 miles but YMMV.
