I believe this is the club that TaylorMade sued Costco over possible patent infringement with their P790 clubs.
If you were to upgrade your equipment, you'd probably want to look at game improvement irons rather than players distance irons. For example, the Callaway Edge set that Costco sells is much more beginner friendly and forgiving than these blades are.

Quote from ipwhat :
I was lucky getting these irons last year together with 3-4 golf friends I know. All of us have returned the sets to costco.
To be honest, this is a great golf iron set has similar look and feel as the big brand.
But i am told this type(blade) of irons is too hard to beginners(high handicap, handicap of 20+), so I returned mine and picked some game improvements type of irons. And do not plan to go back to blade until I get to ~10 handicap.
Good on you (and others in this thread) to recognize that not all expensive clubs are going to help every golfer out, especially new ones.

Once you get settled into your current set of irons, look up how to do wrist-to-floor measurements and buy some strike/lie tape to measure. It's a cheap and DIY way to determine if your clubs are fit for your swing and stance. The wrist-to-floor is literallly just using a measuring tape, and the strike/lie tape is to see if your clubs are hitting the floor at an upward or downward angle. You then get them bent (at a local shop) for $5/club. Altering your length (let's say you're a 6'+ person or 5' person) for also $5/club.

or

Overall these two things, which you can do yourself, is what a basic fitting is. Give it a go and you'll see your game improve even more for basically next to no money or effort.

These are appealing for the price, but at the same time you can get Maltby TS4's or TS1-IM's for the same price. And beginners/high HCP players really shouldn't be playing these types of clubs, so that kind of obviates the value for anyone that isn't already a solid ball striker.

If you are a mid handicap player give them a shot. So many opinions on here, really with Costco return policy you have the flexibility of trying them. Do you own personal fitting. Check the numbers with a launch monitor and how it works with your swing

Just reiterating what was said elsewhere - (probably) 90% of players will not easily grow out of the ~$550 Costco Callaway Edge set. It's a remarkable price and basically a rebadge of the old X2 Hot range with a very nice blade putter at a v low price to get new golfers familiar with the Callaway brand.

I added some wedges (you can get Kirkland wedges but I like Lazrus personally esp when they have deals) and switching out the driver is a logical next step when your swing is locked down.

If you are on a budget you can even pick up used Edge sets.

This is the way to go if you are a beginner and save money for lessons.

You would already know from your golfing experience if these Kirkland player irons are right for you, so if you are not sure the answer is they are not! I personally am a little surprised Costco launched a range of intermediate-to-advance golfer clubs given the competition in the market and buzz from playing with brands the pros use, but Costco clearly think they can compete!
