Or you could just upgrade your apple product with an internal drive. More convenient, faster, and it's only about thirty five thousand dollars more than this.

It's probably pulling more power than some device's USB ports can supply, like if someone directly plugs this into a TV for a direct-access media hub.

Most PCs still don't give 15W output. I would have liked to see a second USB port and some status LCD. Which I suspect is the future direction, but nobody wants to pay to add to these right now.

That is a lot of storage. Don't hate on me for asking this. But who needs this much storage other than maybe someone making movies?? I looked and there are about 3000 terabytes of data on the library of Congress.I guess I am old computer nerd that still remembers his commodore vic 20 the 2k on board and I got the 16k expansion cartridge. I still have it if someone is in need. 😁

Certain videographers and photographers. If shooting 8k footage, 1TB is anywhere about 15-17 hours of footage. So if you're a videographer shooting a whole day wedding with two cameras, that's easily 1TB. For photographers if we're shooting with dual Z9s or R5s, can easily get about 250Gb of images in a day. Plenty of ways to rack up storage for volume shooters.

it seems silly to make a product like this without an ethernet port or wifi radio.

Not sure giving its price, why they don't make it as TB4? It's very rare to have Mac/PC to support USB 3.2G2 speed which is 20Gbps. TB4 is like 40Gbps.
