Seems like a pretty slick deal for a new tool. I've seen the ratchet as low as $60, 2.5ah battery for $45, and 5.0 battery for $55 so that makes the die grinder roughly $140.

Note that the 3/8 ratchet is the old non fuel model, it's still a good ratchet especially if you need the smaller head but after using the new fuels and high speed ones I would never get the OG one imo

It's good to know if you're not aware.

I actually prefer this one for that specific reason, and have three. They're not as powerful or as fast as the newer ones, but those are all larger. When even this one is a tight squeeze at times, any bit of a size difference can make things noticeably more difficult.

Hate how they always mix a decent Fuel tool with an old non-Fuel tool. Really kills the deal

How are you getting $299? Is it using the hack of returning a battery or two? Because it's pulling up a special buy price of $349 for me and zip code doesn't seem to change anything.

I think he means It's as if you are getting for that price considering how much the battery and ratchet cost separately.

Man i really want the old style 1/4" ratchet but they are way overly expensive and never go on sale.

I kick myself for not getting that 1/4" fuel kit that went on sale for $129

But the 3/8" gets me by no problem.

I remember seeing replacement kits for 1/4 and 3/8, I wonder if they're interchangeable.. I haven't used the 1/4, is the entire head smaller?

*Never mind, it seems that the kits I saw are meant for the newer Fuel ratchets.
It looks like the OG 1/4 and 3/8 ratchets have the same head size, so maybe there's something down that rabbit hole.
