Bass players….if I just wanted to have a "toy" to play around with and to learn. AND I have a guitar amp can I, without worry of damage to the amp, plug this into a guitar amp? I know that bass amps are what you want, but if I just want some OK sound for learning can I do that? I'm concerned this will become like a treadmill (never get used) and don't want to sink more into a bass amp that also may not get used. I want more (sound) than I'll get practicing without it plugged in. Thoughts?

Yes, you can play it through a guitar amp no problem other than loss of low-end tone.

Thank you so much. This matches with some of what I was reading. Keep the volume low was also recommended in case anyone else is wondering.

I'm in the same boat. do you have a decent amp? the smaller the amp and the louder you play, the more likely you are to cause damage to the amp.
