This popular deal is available again. I actually successfully price matched this a couple weeks ago when this deal was live then. Highly recommend this console, it's a lot of fun. Currently running starfield at medium graphics running at 60-70fps. Not bad at all.

AMD Ryzen Z1 extreme

That's expected to be possibly double this model's sale price.

The good thing about that Xbox version coming out is you might be able to update the Operating system on this device to its Xbox version of windows and improve this device's capability.

newegg had these 459 at some point. Sam's did a good deal on these for $379 for at least kept it around 4 months. They just raised back the prices, i'd say wait for prime day deals, everyone will drop prices to compete, especially new ally xbox series potentially start getting pre-orders this august per rumors and leaks and october for full launch. you could even snag on ebay for good price and buy the 3rd party warranty with it.

I had one of these, and it was alright. There is an issue where the SD card slot may not work, so if you're looking to use it, you may be out of luck. If you're new to PC gaming, you'll need to adjust settings for some games (looking at you Starfield), but there's usually a guide somewhere online that will help.

I have a Claw 8 and based on some of the finagling I have to do with the Intel GPU to get some non-mainstream or indie games to work, I've been considering going back to AMD. This is a great price - just wish it was the Ally X.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Sam's deal was on the lesser Z1 model. This is the Z1 extreme model which performs considerably better for the price.

Seems like a good deal but you really wanna wait for the Xbox Ally X coming out in a few months. It's going to have the new Z2E SOC with a hefty upgraded 880m GPU that will get you a huge boost in FPS and it's more efficient. It also has 24GB of RAM instead of I think it was 12gb on the original Ally? Plus 1TB SSD instead of a 512gb SSD. It's basically nearly double the specs of the original Ally. It also has handles which I'm a huge fan of, essp on devices this size it makes a world of difference ergonomically. In addition to all that Microsoft is partnering with Asus to make it a dual boot system, where the default will be a "xbox app" OS which is basically a slimed down windows 11 with a launcher. They're saying you can link steam, epic, ubisoft connect and perhaps more in addition to your xbox account games. It's got a regular windows 11 pro boot too where you hold down a button when launching and it'll just go to regular windows. This new OS should provide some performance increases in games because the system isn't running as much of the windows bloat. The only thing better you can get is something like the Onexplayer f1 pro or Ayaneo 3 with the Ai 370, 890m SOC, but those are both like $1500ish. They think the xbox Ally X will come in between $800-$900

I'm looking forward to that Xbox Ally X too but at double the price of the Ally it's hard to tell someone to wait for it because we know we ain't going to get double the performance. If one doesn't mind the price tag for an Xbox Ally x. They probably already got the Ally x
