when a panel is 400w, that means prime conditions as in near the equator and around solar noon. solar prime time is only 2-3 hrs a day. and if you have clouds then cut those numbers my 1/3rd. the low end teslas are like 54kw and the high end teslas are about 93kw. my numbers are bunch of hand waving but, i still think it goves people a general idea of the size of the investment to make it practical for everyday use.

The panels are rated for a 1000 W reference irradiance and a 37 degree tilt so it sounds like a mid latitude optimum, not equator which should have an irradiance close to 1400 W (and a much lower tilt). According to https://pvwatts.nrel.gov/ , a 10kW install should produce ~28 kWh per day in Jan and ~47 kWh per day in June.

I mean, 20 miles is enough for a lot of people. Just googled it and they get about 4.5 miles per kwh. These are almost 5 kw iso even if you were only getting 3 kw, you would be getting 45 miles in the 3 best hours of the day. That would cover most people. And if you created an off grid system to charge it so you didn't need to pay for really expensive install and permits and stuff you could really save some money pretty quick.

I would avoid these at all costs - Eco Worthy is not a manufacturer, and basically just slapping their name on whatever panels they are getting a deal on.

I bought 16 panels from them and ended up with panels that were from 3 different manufacturers and had different appearances and slightly different sizes. ( they all had the same eco-worthy model number)

If you are looking for panels, check out A1SolarStore - they have several pickup locations across the country that can save you a bunch.
