I don't get the hype. I love any Metroidvania I come across but this one felt sluggish and the writing seemed like some edgelord read a bunch of holy texts and did their best to create a story. Artwork was beautiful, I'll give it that. Was regretful of my purchase at a higher price.

got this and the sequel on the switch. it was really really fun once you get the vibe of it. Lots of really good integration of relgious motifs and stories as well as creative twisting of it to fit into the world. I recommend this game if you like a good action game. If button mashing is your only skill in any game, then no, this is not the game for you. Blasphemous is more deliberate and some people will find it not as exciting because they can't spam.

I say this game is worth it at $2.50 especially since I bought it for $5 towards the tail end of 2023.

Yeah it's too stiff and comber too average to be considered so great.
