I would've renewed, really would've but buyer be ware, they had COMPLETELY lost my friends backup keys AND disconnected my MFA at the same time, leaving him completely stranded from logging into the website. His app was still logged in and could jump from app to the website BUT could not change his password because MFA wasn't working and their fail safe of using backups codes did not work. He was told to reset his password via email but once he did he was completely logged out from all accounts and couldn't get in because they required MFA that did not work anymore…it was very strange

When he contacted them they demanded banking info (losing anonymity) and said that losing backup code and the MFA thing were "software flaws" and I kid you not…that he "should be understanding that there is no way to predict what the software might do so it's not their fault…" it blew my mind when I saw the chat transcript. They took no responsibility

They were unapologetic, demanded he give them CC info & refused to accept even his original activation code which is unique, eventually they craved when he threatened to release the transcript and videos to social media and direct people to it by posting comments on all those social media accounts they pay folks to market for… they did a turn around in 2 mins and restored the account but was unable to give new backup codes as those were "lost forever "

TLDR: I DO NOT TRUST NORD VPN. I liked their service but wow that was some shady shit and I wouldn't believe it if he didn't send me the emails and screen recorded the chat own their site.

That's why you should never use MFA, especially for something like this.

I buy a 2-year plan every 18-mos or so....when I'm getting close to expiration and I see one of the 100%CB promos at one of the CB sites (tends to happen at least once every 6 mos, but usually for just a few days). I've always gotten the 100% cb so it's a great deal.

I have an openwrt VM installed on my hypervisor. It's set up to connect with the Nord credentials and one of the virtual NICs is linked to a VLAN so I can have a dedicated wifi SSID that I can use for VPN purposes. I can also link any of the other VMs to the same virtual NIC / VLAN so their traffic is routed via NordVPN. Lots of possibilities there and no matter how many devices or VMs are connected, it's only using ONE of the concurrent logins that Nord allows.

Doing it this way also makes a kill switch unnecessary and it's impossible to have traffic or DNS leakage as long as the openwrt VM was set up correctly. If the vpn link goes down connected devices simply lose their internet connection and you don't have to worry about the consequences of traffic going out via your normal connection. When I buy a new 2-year plan all I have to do is update the credentials on the one openwrt VM and everything else is seamless...

Best deals on Nord will not be advertised here because they are CB deals.

Sometimes as much as 105% back.

Technically, you're only supposed to do it once but I created a new cb and nord account and it worked a 2nd time. Also can alternate between cb sites.

For the conspiracy theorists, the 100%+ promos are usually for a limited time and it all comes out of their marketing budget. Instead of some YTer getting a cut of your sale, you get everything back for yourself and they hope you'll resubscribe after 2 years for full price.

Quote from P01135809 :

"No, NordVPN does not keep logs of user activity. They have a strict no-logs policy, which means they don't store information about your browsing history, DNS queries, connection timestamps, or other personally identifiable data, according to NordVPN. This policy has been independently verified by third-party audits from firms like PricewaterhouseCoopers and Deloitte, according to NordVPN."

Some of yall are weird
