these are pretty great, but are huge. the party that sticks out of your ear sucks out really far. I didn't mind so much, but it looks terrible, in my opinion

It's all marketing lingo, but there is a purpose. Standard wireless is wireless to the device, but wired between the two ears. True wireless means there's no wires between the left and right.

I have these for a year now, the sound quality is great, battery still strong, good price point for not caring if I drop or lose them and surprisingly they are pretty secure in the ear that it hasn't fallen out even with light to moderate exercises. Yes they do stick out so as long as that isn't a deal breaker than this a good deal.

FYI Yamaha doesn't manufacture their own Bluetooth buds. Made by a Chinese supplier that just slaps their logo on it.Not saying that they are bad, but the $150 MSRP is a joke. $30 seems about right for them.

It looks like the Sports version TW-ES5A is also $29 (white/blue/green/pink).

How do these compare to the Sports version?

I wish I had seen this comment before ordering a pair. Great find and thanks for sharing

FYI, Yamaha seems discontinuing these earbuds, they don't have every variant available in their warehouse anymore, but no question for warranty service if asking for replacement

Can they hold a candle to newer flagships like Soundcore Liberty Pro 3/4? It's hard to ignore their price.

Sending my pair back. Very flat sound and the EQ settings barely made a difference. Possibly defective pair given the other reviews on here. I've got a pair of Soundcore Life A3i for around the same price that are far superior. I did the firmware update before listening to the Yamaha pair and I wonder if that somehow negatively impacted the sound? Taking a loss on the return, but I literally would never use these based on the poor sound quality.
