For those like me who want JBOD and would happily buy without RAID: The one with RAID shows $121 (after tax) at checkout. The one without says $135 despite starting at a far lower cost.

Quick Edit: I'll probably still be skipping due to being USB 3.0 and all of my most recent machines having 3.2 (3.1 Gen 2). Unless someone more knowledgeable (at least than me at 2am) knows this doesn't matter with SATA 3?

I bought two different Orico ensures and returned both. Performance was not good. Slow transfer speeds. Hard Drives wouldn't be recognized. No bueno.

Not a NAS, just external storage

This thing failed on me with ZFS, then failed again. Might be good for other filesystems, but unreliable for ZFS. Could be the USB 3.0 interface.

5gbps is equivalent to the speed of data transfer from one Sata drive. So it's effectively like accessing one drive at a time
