I have 3 of these 1.6gpf variants at my home for about a year now, only 1 clog so far, the claimed non stick properties are also a lie.
Great toilet. I put this thing through hell twice a day every day, and all day on National Taco day.
i've never sat on a tall toilet until a month ago at the industial complex for my industrial garages. they replaced the toilet with a tall one. that was a weird feeling. got used to it. not a biggie. it's really designed to help the elderly and those with injuries get on and off easier. it's standard commericial code for my area now.

I bought two of the 1.6gpfs to replace the crappy contractor grade toilets that came with my house. That was ~ 25 years ago. They are great. Regarding maintenance. The flapper on any toilet will need replacing. Our water is so hard I'm lucky to get 2 years out of one. 5-7 years? I'd be thrilled with that.
Have you tried pouring citric acid into the toilet tank and letting it sit for a few hours? That should help dissolve hard water buildup.

Have one. In my experience, it only clogs when the water in the bowl is very cold (like during winter) and you wait more than a few minutes too flush (sorry if tmi lol)

A Japanese toilet with no bells and whistles? I don't see the point.

For people who have the 1.28 GPF any issues with them clogging? Or not self cleaning due to the reduced water volume?
We have had a Toto 1.28 for seven years and not a single clog.

Has anyone received their order? I received confirmation email and was charged with an expected delivery date of tomorrow. Just noticed a credit for the same amount was issued to my bank today. No other emails from Costco.

I bought two of these 10 years ago. Nothing special, just the brand name. Clapper valves failed after 8 years. Home Depot has the new re-designed type valves. I would not buy it just for the name unless you want to show them off to your neighbors and visitors, or for some reason sitting on a $320 toilet vs a $150 gives you thrills or better relief.
The new clapper valve is much better. More forceful. I had clogs many times with these toilets when flushing left over meals or paper towels. I had to get a whole suite of semi-pro unclogging tools. Normal turds are ok.
One of the two is non-stick. I cannot tell anymore which one. That tells you what you need to know. Rings form under the side rims on a regular basis. Hard to get a brush in there.

I was thinking about getting this deal to replace the clog prone toilets I have now, but all of the TOTO toilets seem to get 3.5-4 stars at Lowes and HD. Does anyone have insight as to why this is better than buying a Kohler or American Standard with a 4.5-4.7 star rating and $100 less?Ex: https://www.lowes.com/pd/KOHLER-E...5013595669
I have two of these, one non-stick. There is no difference as far as I can tell between an American Standard or any other mainstream brand.
