You can use this one and not put in a SD card. You don't have to use all the features.
I have this model on my work truck with a solid topper, my rearview mirror was blocked and I had to remove the backup cam. I sandwiched the included mount between the rear light and topper. It doesn't vibrate like crazy. Now I have a digital rearview mirror and backup cam. You can move the image around, as the screen is a touchscreen and the it's zoomed in. You have the option to get a full view, but the square image doesn't fit the mirror shaped screen like that.
LMK if you need any clarification or pictures.

Found the camera button on the model y. It looks like HAL 9000 so i never pressed it. Now I can drive with the side and rear cams always in view. https://imgur.com/a/SChRcWN

the G900 has the same functionality as the G840h but with better specs. with the G840h you're going to get 2k front/1080p dashcam recording, realtime wide angle view of the front/rear eliminating blind spots. The wide angle rear view was my selling point. I rarely have to use my side mirrors now. video quality is decent with the Sony Starvis chip but you will have issues capturing license plates especially at night. night vision is good, much better than the Vantrue we had. in the years that ive had the wolfbox installed in 2 cars ive only had to pull video twice and that was to catch someone flipping me off and to check video when my mom backed into another car (she didnt look while backing up).

A few cons. Since this basically replaces your rearview mirror, for any reason you may need to revert back to a mirror you'll have to pull power to disable video or remove the Wolfbox off from the existing mirror. I've read that people have issues with stability since the mirror attaches to your existing mirror using silicone straps. they do sell a hardmount. you'll have glare on bright days and it'll make it hard to see. video is analog, i ran into issues with static on the rear view image due to electrical interference from my hardwire kit that isn't there when i use the 12v power socket adapter.

Some things that would improve this mirror cam: OLED screen for better nighttime visibility, digital video -- analog has too much interference, higher refresh rate -- only uses 30fps, 4k rear since you're going to be viewing the rear most of the time, Starvis 2 chip -- the G900 pro uses the new chipset, wireless cameras -- though video uses too much bandwidth to go over bluetooth, maybe in future bluetooth versions. front bumper cam -- the G900 has a version with the front bumper cam.

dashcams are a must nowadays and at this price point its a no brainer.

Ok I bought it and installed it over the weekend and it does have a mirror finish. However its a smokey slightly tinted finish so It's fine during the day and a bit getting used to at night.
Other than that no complaints so far.
