Does anyone have an estimate how long it would take the 2 100w panels to charge up one or both batteries in the sun belt?

Technically 5 hours to charge up one with nothing discharging it. In real life probably 7-8hr

How are you folks using these things? I have seen solar panels and these power stations get posted on SD quite a bit over the past few years but I assumed it was for folks that work outdoors or go camping outdoors.

Any use for these at home in regular, day-to-day stuff?

You need sunlight. Assuming you have rainy or cloudy conditions during a hurricane, you likely won't benefit from this setup. If the emergency event happens in the fall or winter then you can further forget it since the sun will be at a very unfavorable angle and will do very little to your panels

I've got one. Sometimes it's easier to grab one of these than hunt up an extension cord and an open outlet if I need to power some lights or run a computer in an unusual spot. I've run a projector off of it before as well.

I use it to power the tv, lights, gaming laptop, monitor and inverter window ac unit in my bedroom. The D2 and extra battery is in my room and i have the cable running from my 2 qcell 400 watt bifacial that i picked up on FB marketplace. I only really pull about the 500w that the D2 can support since I don't have the best angles. it will be at 100% by 3pm... then will go off battery when the sun sets. By the time I sleep. it's about 10-20% left. Then charges back up in the morning. it will be at 100% by 3pm and so on and so on. So it's pretty cool to think I can live "off grid" in my room if i needed to.

That's pretty neat.

Do the solar panels work well if placed against the window, facing outside, or do they need to be outdoors?

Outdoors for sure. In direct sunshine to get the best results. Folding solar panels are convenient, but if you're lucky to have a backyard, then rigid panels outdoor for sure. The ecoflow 400w folding panels I've read are nice but are expensive.

I see. It's tough to have the power station indoors but still connected to panels outdoors, though, right?

I use this specific unit to power my router and modem as well as TV. I only watch TV like 1 hour a day so one unit is sufficient. I charge it daily with solar.

It powered through 2 power outages so far.

The total capacity of these 2 batteries is 3kwh. Typical good solar panels have about 85% efficiency. 2X 110W panels can produce 180W max. To fill up 2 batteries, it would take about 16.6hrs of good sunlight. 180W x 16.6h = 3,000Wh.

Keep in mind that battery reserves about 10% to keep BMS alive and state of charge slow down when battery reaches above 85%.
