The Surge is awesome, just get it. I am just going to sell my M18 Fuel impact since I have yet to find a fastener the Surge has failed on, if it is a bolt, I just grab the new M12 Stubby. I like the Surge a LOT more than the M12 Installation Driver too

They found them to be pretty even, with the Surge a little more powerful and the regular one a little faster. But those of us that have the Surge tend to love it because of how smooth and quiet it is.

The M12 Gen3 Fuel set is an incredible set that does it all(IMO the best homeowner/DIY set on the market). You will not be disappointed. The hammer drill is awesome for going into cement or masonry and powerful enough to mix mortar. The impact has more than enough power for most jobs and why others and I find themselves grabbing it over their M18s.
I only bought the surge because it is quiet enough i can do inside work without upsetting my wife and as a bonus it is easier not to strip finer hardware(I use it for cabinetry work and similar).

Deal is dead. When I purchased the set yesterday, the special deal price appeared to be 1 day only and was expiring in 9 hrs, so assumed it was ending at 12AM. Price went back up to $179. They did similar for Father's Day pack that was $199 for 1 day and then jumped back to $229.

Only correct here in terms of power. Technically Surge is a bit more msrp. Premium is for the hydraulics not the power.
