I have the EGO edger. I don't remember what I paid for it but if it's EGO it was too much.

Anybody that has it or has used the EGO knows that the EGO one only has a single wheel. It's functional and seems to work OK but I have to admit, I'm pretty intrigued about this two version from Ryobi particularly since it has the drop wheel on there. It looks more stable. I'd love to hear from somebody that actually owns this.

It's ok and works. It's bulky. Wish it was more maneuverable. I could not see a need for any of the other Ryobi 40v tools.

I thought the same at first but you have to select tool and battery…. $21 for a 40v battery and charger is pretty cheap.

Bought it last year when it was $125 and haven't had any issues with the product. It's very easy to use .
Not a good deal at this price as it went down to $125 multiple times around the holidays.

ot is not a bad deal if you have other Ryobi 40v tools. I have the Earth Auger and I know the cheapest you can get a 40v battery and charger for is $95. @ factory direct tool outlet. The 40v earth auger is great for planting. no more digging holes. I love best $300 I ever spent.

I don't have this exact unit but I have the Edger attachment that goes with the base unit you get with the weed eater. It uses the same blade, is very portable, and works really well. It is also only $79 if you have the base unit. I would highly recommend the Ryobi 40V system over the last 8 years I have added the 14" chain saw, leaf blower, Tiller, Hedge Trimmer, Brush cutter, and 8" chain saw with 8 foot expansion. It's an incredible set - batteries last a long time. I can take care of my 1/2 acre lot with 2 4AH batteries every week.

It was like $125 last deal so this isn't a good deal unless you're in dire need for one. Wait for cooler months where stores tend to sell summer equipment on sales and discounts

Got one this Winter and the battery is defective when I first tried to use it. Trying to get through Ryobi customer support is a nightmare (still trying) so just be aware.

Like some others have said, I got it back in November for $124.50. It sounds like you also got it at that price and that you live in a state that gets very cold and snow in the winter. And that you didn't open it when you got it and charged the battery because you didn't need to use it until the spring. Some advice for everyone that uses battery powered OPE or power tools. Charge and store your batteries inside the house in a temperature controlled environment.
