This price is absolutely insane, specially when you can buy a 64gb kit for $140 on amazon.

Be aware that the factory installed SSD is practically inaccessible, you have to take the entire heat pipe/cooling system out of the laptop to get to it. Other than that, yeah this is a great deal.

If I am not mistaken, this laptop is using a vapor chamber approach to cooling vs heat pipes alone. I was thinking Lenovo Legion 5i pioneered this approach and would always be superior in cooling. But if a copy cat approach is used, maybe it still represents a serious improvement?

I have a predecessor hp omen transcend and the amount of air intake required from the bottom of the laptop is a bummer if you are just sitting on the couch. If it is on your lap, you block the cooling. They almost should not call these laptops anymore from that perspective lol. Some of you already know this. Game on.

So would be best to upgrade to 1tb? Are there slots for additional drives?

The second slot is easy to get to, but yeah its a tough call between 512 and 1 TB for the one they cant really be replaced, i personally would want at least 1 TB for the OS Drive. It sucks they want $90 for it but could be worthwhile.

Amex offers has $300 off $1,999 (ymmv). Think the RAM upgrade is worth it to get the total over $1,999? Or upgrade the SSD and buy an accessory?

Best to use install a separate drive to host the games. Should give you a silent improvement when comparing running game off the same drive as the OS.

Is it worth the $300 to upgrade from 5070ti to 5080?

It's a wash at that point if you have that Amex offer, might as well get it
