I can never find a single contractor to install third party solar panels, every one of them wants to be subsidized by installing panels they sourced and reselling for much higher!

You need to find your way around the contractor. Look for fb groups in your area for construction or contractors. You can generally find laborers in your area that will work with you directly without a general contractor or sub contractor involved. I am planning to build a solar pergola so I don't have to worry about my roof and my insurance demanding I use higher cost solutions to install directly on the roof. If you plan to install on your roof, you are probably stuck playing the insurance game of spending too much money.

Can someone who knows compare this price to say a Tesla solar panel install to see how much savings are we talking about here .

People are still using teslas panels? I thought just the gateway and battery system
