Eff them
They've just jacked all their prices up again and even the points difference between basic and wanna get away plus is twice as expensive as it was just a couple months ago,, at least at the flights I've looked at.

A couple things about their website and this promo:

1) they reversed the order of the ticket options. basic (least expensive used to be on the right), it's now on the left. If you're used to just power scanning the right-most column for the lowest price, you'll need to check the left column now.

2) promo DOES NOT include basic fares - but they still show up in the results. Be careful with what you purchase so that it qualifies.

That's because that's a confirmation page to start your booking...that should not be linked here and the original poster should update it.

This is the proper link - https://www.southwest.com/loyalty...2-5DAW6IG4

Hold the line. Don't fly with them until they restore their old policies like no layoffs, free bags, and no credit expiration

Note: Basic fares are not qualifying flights for this promotion.

They really did blow everything up at once. TBH I didn't fly with them much before because they were often higher in price, but now they're higher in price and suck.

But to comment on this deal, here's the full terms:

Register for this promotion, then book one qualifying round trip or two qualifying one-way Southwest® flights between 8:00 a.m. Central Time ("CT") on June 24, 2025 and 11:59 p.m. CT on June 27, 2025 (the "Promotion Period") for travel from June 24, 2025 to August 31, 2025 (the "Travel Period"), and fly during the Travel Period to earn a promotional Companion Pass® valid for use between September 8, 2025 and November 15, 2025. Basic fares are not qualifying flights for this promotion.

Good I guess for people who can take advantage of dancing around the dates, but a lot of hoops to jump through for me personally.

They've ran a version of this promo several times in the past and the details are all essentially the same. Though the biggest difference now is that it applies to their new pricing structure vs. what they had before which makes it less appealing.

No chance this happens.

Unfortunately I agree. Companies would rather go out of business than revert changes, never have been clear on why, though you could guess the old way wasn't sustainable for them either.
