This is undoubtedly better. OLED panels are better than QLED panels across all parameters, so I would recommend going for this over the TCL even with the smaller size; you're not going to feel the difference in size over the significantly better quality of the image

Seems to be a lowest price for about this size OLED 4K TV right? At least a solid deal for a better than TCL/Hisense(?) brand.

Yeah, but the 48" LG B4 has been as low as $500 and the 65" has been $800 I think. Not a bad price, it kind of slots in between the two cheapest deals on good brand OLED models, with a size to match that pricing. I would have personally jumped on the 65" B4 OLED if I were willing to get an OLED with low brightness. The extra $100 isn't bad for an extra 10". But this is probably the best budget OLED deal we're getting unless more LG stock goes on clearance sales again.

Yeah that's fair, the LG B4 deals have been solid, but this feels like a sweet spot if you want something bigger than 48" without jumping to $800 or more. Curious if anyone knows who's making the panels for these Panasonic sets? I've heard some Panasonic models use LG panels, which would be a huge win.

Seems a fairly solid deal. RTINGS does mention that it isn't a great choice for bright rooms, can't overcome reflection as it doesn't get bright enough.

Where was the TV made? Does Japan still own Panasonic?

Japan doesn't own Panasonic but Panasonic is still based in Japan and yes, the real Panasonic makes this TV. This isn't a cheapie Chinese TV bean brand using the Panasonic name.
